great video!, I have an Oculus Rift, Chronos and Luckys tales looks really great, and thats it, there is just very few good games on the VR library, just like 20 or 30 the rest are low quality games.... in the other hand I have a Sony bravia 47" 3D stereoscopic HDTV (2014), the TV with the use of Reshade and/or Tridef it is posible to play almos 90% of PC games, witcher 3, darks soul, evil with in, DOOM 2016, can played with INCREDIBLE 3D stereoscopic efects much much better than the 3d in movies.... (dark souls and Sekiro are just so great in 3dtv).... its really sad that there is not new manufacturers of 3dtvs.... due is an amazing technology

It still makes me giggle that Elon made this as a half ass joke.. The irony is think about Disney animatronics going back to the 1960s there have been a couple of people that took a pop shot at making animatronic Partners. Real doll is still trying to do it they cost like 10 grand for a real doll and the ones you can presently get only the head moves they're working on a prototype that has a working arm hand and torso system without being able to walk and they've come quite a ways in a short time with that. The problem with real doll is the AI they're using to run their product is a dumpster fire I've played with the AI that runs those $10,000 heads yes the head cost 10 grand not including the body LOL. The irony being there was a knockoff head from Korea or something like that for two grand but I lost the damn information to try and get my hands on one of those and get a look at it. 10 Grands we had a my range but 1500 to 2,000 I can swing. I don't think in my lifetime I'll see a humanoid robot that cost the same amount as occur we're talking 200 Grand range at least and that's why they haven't even been pumping them out for stuff like business use. Combination of how much to mass produce them plus there's no repair chain in place. I'm surprised Tesla cars are surviving because there's so few places to take them to get them maintenance using their cars as an example. Robots for home use date back to the 1980s and every time the combination of price and lack of repair support is why those companies keep going out of business. Japan has made countless Home Service robots that could have been repurposed for bow chicka wow wow and the company's always go out of business usually after selling only a few units. There was one a couple of years ago that ran on wheels and it would have just been a matter of putting a fursuit on it and attaching a few things in certain locations that robot had humanoid arms and a head and ran around on wheels they sold 10 or 20 of them before the company went out of business in Japan. I remember seeing a couple of them on eBay a while back for like 2 or $3,000 lol. Can't remember if they were listed as working or not. The main thing is making one that doesn't break 5 minutes after you buy it on top of costing a couple hundred thousand dollars. Robots like Boston Dynamic have been around longer than you think but nobody's trying to make them commercially because of maintenance issues. Let me put it to you this way imagine trying to market the television in 1935 you'd be surprised how far back the technology was for televisions but there wasn't a market yet. Same thing with home computers home computers could have been a thing a lot sooner if money had been pumped into it and the right kind of publicity it took a long time for home computers to go from being a niche Hobby to something we play video games on to being a electric typewriter alternative and then to what we have now. Unfortunately I don't think I'll live long enough to see a robot running something similar to chat gbt3 or 4 which both can be run locally by the way without internet and aside from running something like that can have any kind of movement. The irony is most of this technology Disney was doing back in the '60s with animatronics other than being able to walk. The problem has alwlf a Charlie Brown a ays been expense durability and maintenance. You think I'm being a jerk? Remember Teddy Ruxpin and his little family back in the 1980s there are roughly 20 variants of that technology from a couple different companies including a Mickey Mouse a Snoopy a Big Bird and so on at one point or another I've owned nearly every variant of those children's animatronics that played cassettes of some form. I'm surprised somebody doesn't backwards engineer that technology and simply make it a bit bigger like around 3 ft High when you think how cheap Teddy ruxpens were in the 1980s it makes you question why the heads from RealDoll are so expensive. Would simply be a matter of using the type of tech they used for the Teddy Ruxpin making it bigger and mass producing it most people are mainly just concerned about the damn thing talking and having a place for you to well you know. If you think I'm being a jerk look how popular cheaply made silicone dolls are in Japan unlike the ones from real doll they're like between 200 and 600 bucks the ones from real to all start out I think around five grand and they're the same Tech just cheaper made and they're quite popular in Japan. The ones in Japan range from 3 ft tall to 6 ft tall and they're quite popular over there. They make cat girl variance if anybody's curious. It's mostly that somebody hasn't tried to make the head and mass produce it. I literally have a talking Deadpool head off of a Android phone app I suspect there's at least one person on UA-cam that's taking one of those Deadpool heads and connected to chat gbt lol. If they can make one of those heads for under $200 I don't see why somebody hasn't done something similar like I already said the Tidy Ruxpin technology. I’m also going for an a.a.s in Mechatronics and it’s genuinely so fun! Originally I had planned to go into some sort of coding field, but I decided I wanted something way more hands-on and something that wouldn’t have to deal with so much networking. The head of the Mechatronics department came into my highschool for our “Career Day” and I immediately knew that was what I wanted to pursue, I’ve finished my first year already and it has been so fun and amazing, been trying to find somewhere to work so I can get CWE but that’s been a bit difficult in my area lol. Good luck to everyone else out there wanting to pursue Mechatronics! It’s seriously worth it :)

I'm so happy with the current VR Quest I have but it's so heavy and the hand tracking seems to only work half the time and isn't compatible with many games. All I want is better hand tracking and a lighter head gear😭

Just finished SAO season 2, and from this video, the one thing we actually do need with the current tech we have, is not some magnificent 360hz 16k oled screens with dandelion smells in your armpits you could notice for some obscure reason.. It's the games. How many VR games can you count that is even on the level of SAO's level of world design, gameplay and physics for instance? Physics, interactions, lifelike npc's, extremely deep technicalities in stuff you can do/discover and heck, develop your own sword skill for instance. Furthest we have is literally literally players being walking cones with ps3 graphics with a tad higher textures. Look at halflife alyx, i can't even whack a headcrab with a chair, let alone hold a chair to block a headcrab's path. Before we even get into making our entire consciousness be transferred to the game, we might wanna work on the games first. Not some flimsy shit free to play with all ray traced armors for 15 bucks with fuckall interesting gameplay, but proper large worlds with proper physics and realism. We so far have 1 mmo i can recall for VR, and it's not even that interesting. nor good looking. I've wanted a quest 3 for it's 11x better A.I performance and better visuals overall, but what would that help if there's barely anything good to play that really makes it feel like you're in another world, and forgetting you're in a video game. I've not touched my quest 2 properly in a year soon because it has no reason to make me want to play VR. Maybe only for workouts to keep up cardio, which was the last few activities i did in it. Apart from that, i've grown tired of VR.

I find it funny that you showed a clip of Kazuma from Konosuba to represent how jack-of-all-trades people are useless in teams, because that's the exact opposite of what the series portrays. Kazuma is consistently shown to be the glue that holds the party together. The entire point of his character is that he's seemingly a weak nobody with no skills, but is actually just highly-skilled at leading a party of highly-specialised people who'd otherwise be completely incompetent on their own. Although you do need specialisation in order to *actually* get many tasks done, people with generalised knowledge are required to see the bigger picture and lead individuals with different specialisations.

To do anything like NerveGear and fullldive VR, we will *most likely* need an implant. So to give Elon some credit, he is getting us closer to fulldive. The problem for most is that it will require sticking something into your skull and brain.

I know this was three years ago, but even as someone who has a headset, i never use it. I've experienced it, but it's just so much effort to maintain vs what you get out of it, you get a headache trying to use it for too long. It's a fun thing from time to time, but not something I use that often.
